Why Ron Paul is NOT Good for America

Okay, I’ve seen a handful of comments on my blog telling me that Ron Paul is good for America, and while I appreciate your opinions, and I will in no way remove such comments, I consider Ron Paul’s ideas on some major issues an abomination. Let’s go through them, shall we?

Just for clarification, I’m going on Ron Paul’s published positions from his website at http://www.ronpaul2008.com/issues/.

Immigration: On Immigration, Ron Paul is calling for an end to birthright citizenship. The consequences of this could be severe. Birthright citizenship in the United States plainly put says that any baby born on U.S. soil to parents not holding allegiance to a foreign government is considered a native-born citizen of the United States. This is the fourteenth amendment to the US Constitution, and one that I consider rather important. And for those who argue that those not here legally are somehow excluded, I refer to Plyler v. Doe where the Supreme Court ruled that an illegal alien is just as covered by this amendment as a legal alien.

His Pro-Life stance: On this issue, I agree with his fundamental position. I agree that unborn children have a right to life. What I don’t agree with is his dismissal of the checks and balances. Ron Paul supports HR 300 that seeks to limit the jurisdiction of the Supreme Court. Gosh this is a dangerous bill. Can you imagine the damage that could be done by congress without that very necessary check and balance in place? This is just an insane proposition that should never be put in place.

War and Foreign Policy: While I agree with the Congressman on the circumstances surrounding the war in Iraq, I strongly disagree with his stances on U.S. military participation in enforcing U.N. resolutions. As the world becomes a more global playing field, the U.N. is a necessary body for keeping the peace in the world. The U.N. needs a lot of reform and change, that’s no mystery though. The do think that the United States needs to hold elections for U.N. representatives though, but that’s not really relevant to this discussion. The assertion that U.S. forces shouldn’t help the U.N. is preposterous. We’re a major player on the global stage, and it’s only fair that we do our part to help the world deal with global issues such as genocide, disease, and hunger.

Ron Paul has a lot of good ideas, but I think his bad ideas are dangerous and detrimental to the United States. I think his immigration policy is fueled by racism–the same as many other politicians–and would cost a lot of money to enforce… but would ultimately fail.

So please let me make this very clear, I respect everybody’s position here, but I am most certainly not going to be supporting Ron Paul this upcoming election season.

Update: For those who think my statement of racism is based solely on Dr. Paul’s immigration stance, please note that it’s actually because of his anti-birthright citizenship and isolationist ideas that I think he is a racist, not because of his anti-illegal immigration stance.

From your comments you have not peeled the onion back far enough. If you continue and get to the source of many of the issues you seem against, I think you too would find the logic and viewpoints of Ron Paul to be on track more than off track. Keep learning…with enough truth and facts you too will understand that what we have been fed by the mainstream and conditioned to think is true…simply is not.

The thing that makes Ron Paul attractive, and the reason he would make the best president is that he knows, understands and follows the constitution. As such, he realizes he is not a king, that he doesn’t have the power to do such things by himself, as Bush does.

So it’s not even like he can everything by himself. He believes in returning to the rule of law, which is the constitution. The constitution is the law the people have set out for the government. If the government fails to follow that, you have an unruly government.

I could argue your points, and might. But the above is the reason he would be the best president. I think people forget we are electing a president, not a king who gets to make the US what he wants for 4 years. If we want to get back to electing presidents, we need a president who is going to bring back the rule of law to the government.

Immigration: He proposes to end birth right citizenship to illegal aliens. You don’t explain why this is bad. As you know Congress has the power to override any Supreme Court opinion.

His Pro-Life stance: Yet again Congress has the power. Whether they use it or not the power will still remain. The Constitution gives more power to Congress than to the Supreme Court because Congress can check the Court and the people can check Congress. By Congress not using its checks the Court has aquired more power than it should have.

War and Foreign Policy: I will disagree on you with that. I think the US government should not be involved with the UN. I think though people like you who want to end genocides should be free to go fight around the world and do so privately without US government backing.

Thanks for not calling Ron Paul a “kook”. I respect your right to your opinion.
I myself am tired of waiting for UN reform. The long history of corruption and ineptitude leaves me with the feeling that it needs to be disbanded.
The Supreme Court’s jurisdiction is to test legislation for Constitutional compliance, not to “write” legislation from the bench.
Could you expand your comments about HR300?
    Thanks

The U.N. needs a lot of reform and change, that’s no mystery though.

Now you sound like every woman I’ve ver known that dated (or married) a bad boyfriend.

We need to kick it to the curb, and take care of ourself for a change.

Thanks for the polite message. I was not sure what you liked about HR300. I do not know anything about it.

In the last month I bumped into a Ron Paul video and have since donated money to his campaign. I have never donated money to any campaign.

Today, when I watch the news or listen to anyone talk I hear it from a perspective that gives me a clear understanding of what should be and what shouldn’t be.

People say what about health care?
I do not have health coverage and do not know what I will do if I need a doctor. But I know that it is my responsibility, not Uncle Sam’s.

Now that I may go into foreclosure on my home, it was my fault, not Uncle Sam’s.

It is so much easier when we take responsibility for what we do, and for what we don’t do, and not try and point a finger at the government.

This all is easy to understand now, that our government was supposed to trade with other nations, not police them, nor move our manufacturing base into them, nor rip-off their natural resources.

Yesterday, I read we will be sending 20 billion dollars worth of bombs to Israel and Saudi Arabia. From my history lessons I learned that we supported Osama and Saddam for nearly a decade each before they both turned on us.

It is simple to see that sending bombs to the mideast will result in more terror. But most of Washington cannot see anything clearly at all. They are plugged into a self-perpetuating machine that gives them power over money.

It isn’t even worth discussion anymore. Ron Paul turned a light of reason on in my mind and I no longer am confused about any subject. It is a relief to not have to worry about what is right and wrong anymore, it is all in the constitution and if it isn’t in the constitution, we shouldn’t be discussing it from a federal perspective.

I pray for a country that would use the USA constitution as their guidlines and hope that someday the USA might come around to understanding that it was founded by champions of freedom whom invested their lives and minds to make sure it would remain free.

Immigration: On Immigration, Ron Paul is calling for an end to birthright citizenship:

The president has no power to end birthright citizenship.

HR 300, To limit the jurisdiction of the Federal courts, and for other purposes:

The purpose of the federal supreme court is to determine the constitutionality of a given case and NOT to legislate laws from the bench (like we see over and over again.) The congress has the duty and obligation to limit the federal courts to their intended purpose. HR 300 forces the congress to do its job as outlined in the constitution.

His Pro-Life stance: The president has no power to overturn a supreme court decision (the congress does). His pro-life stance is his personal belief. When one has delivered as many babies into this world as the good Dr, Paul, is it any wonder why he has such a high regard for life, loves babies and does like to see them murdered in the womb? Aren’t you filled with joy that your mother decided not to have an abortion? Isn’t life beautiful?

    War and Foreign Policy:

The purpose of the United States is NOT to enforce U.N. resolutions as their personal police force. Very, very few other countries (except the U.S.) get involved or even share the expense of enforcing such resolutions. The American taxpayer picks up 95% of the full tab, paid for in innocent blood and national treasure(so far nearly one TRILLION dollars and 750,000 lives (men, women and children).

Often I see bloggers come out with one or more petty reasons why they will NOT support one of the finest, most honest and moral gentlemen in America for president and try to sway others into following their lead. I become sick to my stomach every time I read such a blog. But, you have every right to your opinions. I just wish that such bloggers would look a bit deeper for facts and substance before posting such opinions. Why? Many Americans have a herd mentality and are easily lead by the nose by even the most asinine of opinions. Why? because it’s in writing and because few will ever check the facts of the author.

Ending, I suppose the question that should be asked of this blogger is: If Dr. Ron Paul does not get your support for president, what candidate do you support, and why are they better for America?

The reason I ask is because the current lineup of presidential hopefuls is pretty dismal to say the least. Whatever people decide to do in the end the should absolutely NOT elect anther lawyer or CFR member. Ron Paul is neither.

    Google search: Most honest politician.

I surely hope that you change your mind and come out with support for Dr. Paul. Every little positive blog helps. There will never, ever be any change in Washington, D.C. (D.C. = District of Criminals) without a Paul presidency. All of the other candidates are simply power hungry clones and sound as if they are all talking in an echo chamber. Respectfully submitted. Take care.

On point 2 – Pro life, courts, and checks: I urge your to check out this article “House Votes to Overturn U.S. Supreme Court Wage-Bias Decision” http://news.yahoo.com/s/bloomberg/aydo9ezxxsw0
Here’s a quote – “In a dissenting opinion, Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg suggested Congress would move to reverse the decision.”

What your suggesting is what’s dangerous – Providing virtually no check on a body of made up of lifetime appointments, except removal from office.

  9. Zack Says:

Point 1 Immigration: So, if you assume that it’s “racist” to be against illegal immigration, aren’t you stereotyping an individual? Pretty ironic…

Paul wants to end the incentives – As he has said, if you subsidize something, you get more of it. Birthright citenzship, taxpayer funded education, taxpayer funded healtchare – etc.

Point 2: See my post above and maybe you can find a deeper insight into our system of checks and balances.

Point 3: Let’s assume you are 100% right – Couldn’t our millitary and federal budget use a 4 year break? We’re not going to fix the world in the next 4 years, regardless of who the president is. But we could go a long way to ensuring the fiscal solvency of this nation for future generations.

Morally, ensuring the economic stability of the US is the single greatest thing we can do for the rest of the world. If we spend until the dollar collapses, do you realize what that will do the world’s economy? Let’s get our house back in order first, then we can go back to worrying about everyone else.

One last thing. Manchicken’s other piece, titled: The Slow Decay of Freedom in “Free Countries” decries the loss of freedoms and his personal love for freedom. Dr. Paul is America’s champion for restoring all of our lost freedoms. No other candidate even comes close. For manchicken to discount and dismiss Dr. Paul as unworthy of support, he contradicts himself. Without Ron Paul, we will get nothing but a continuation of Bush (the decider) and more lies.

    Birthright Citizenship: http://www.lewrockwell.com/paul/paul346.html

“In some Houston hospitals, administrators estimate that 70 or 80% of the babies born have parents who are in the country illegally. As an obstetrician in south Texas for several decades, I can attest to the severity of the problem. It’s the same story in California, Arizona, and New Mexico. And the truth is most illegal immigrants who have babies in U.S. hospitals do not have health insurance and do not pay their hospital bills.

This obviously cannot be sustained, either by the hospitals involved or the taxpayers who end up paying the bills. ”

    Abortion: http://www.lewrockwell.com/paul/paul301.html

“Roe v. Wade was wrongly decided, but not because the Supreme Court presumed to legalize abortion rather than ban it. Roe was wrongly decided because abortion simply is not a constitutional issue. There is not a word in the text of that document, nor in any of its amendments, that conceivably addresses abortion. There is no serious argument based on the text of the Constitution itself that a federal “right to abortion” exists. The federalization of abortion law is based not on constitutional principles, but rather on a social and political construct created out of thin air by the Roe court.

Under the 9th and 10th amendments, all authority over matters not specifically addressed in the Constitution remains with state legislatures. Therefore the federal government has no authority whatsoever to involve itself in the abortion issue. So while Roe v. Wade is invalid, a federal law banning abortion across all 50 states would be equally invalid.”

    The UN: http://www.lewrockwell.com/paul/paul93.html

“The UN has no authority to make “laws” that bind American citizens, because it does not derive its powers from the consent of the American people.”

Our country is currently restricting the freedom of many Iraqi and North Korean people. Why?

Why is my country taking my income and spending it on bombs for Saudi Arabia?

Why is my country restricting the growth of business through taxation?

Our country is restricting and preventing freedom in so many ways I wonder if anyone really knows what freedom really is anymore.

I’m sorry you feel like I’m trying to spam you Anonymous. I don’t maintain a mailing list, and I don’t disclose email addresses to anybody. I never have.

Also, my name is printed clearly in the footer of every page on this blog site. “manchicken” is just a goofy pseudonym I use. As I’m the only person really using the pseudonym, I think “manchicken” is closer to a uniquely identifying name for me than my legal name is. Other than some rather obscene “Urban Dictionary” posts, I seem to have cornered the “manchicken market.” I mean seriously, can you think of anybody else who would want to call themselves manchicken? It is a little too goofy for most.

But I don’t want to detract from the conversation here to discuss all that.

I’ve posted what I’ve posted – I’m not trying to speak for Ron Paul, just copy some quotes from him which are just a sound-bite of what he wrote. I think they are good points (especially within the context of the links) but if they do not sway you, that is your call.

I totally get that you guys dig Ron Paul, and that’s cool by me. I just think his ideas will damage our country in ways that are difficult to repair.

I’m thinking that Christopher Dobb, Barack Obama, or Mike Huckabee are the candidate for me.

Ron Paul’s ideas really put me off, and the ferocious attacks I’ve been getting today after writing an article that was rather obscurely syndicated and finding out that you all are actually SEARCHING for these types of posts kinda scares me as well. Most of the Ron Paul supporters I’ve come in contact with today feel like cult members trying to either recruit or play apologist for a cult rather than defending the position of a political candidate.

This notion that just because I disagree with folks means I somehow don’t get it is just preposterous. I fully understand Ron Paul’s positions. I’ve judged them as dangerous and incorrect, and I do sincerely believe that America will be a worse country if he takes office.

What I did say is that there are other candidates that are NOT dangerous for America like Ron Paul is. Chrisopher Dodd, Barack Obama are just two among several that would be so much better for the United States than Ron Paul.

Please try being honest next time. Lying is unbecoming.

  22. Jay Says:
    Jay Identicon Icon

If that comment is for me I apologize.

You are very right. you didn’t say that.

I do not think we should create a legal precedent that says timing your birth to a physical location can mean you can step past the people waiting in line to gain access because you rolled the break-of-the-water moment dice to your infants birth.

Anyone wants the best for their unborn and I can’t fault the mother for risking life and limb, but by rewarding the mother with child citizenship only rewards risky border-crossings and tells the people waiting in line, this ain’t necessary. Just do it illegally, it pays off.

So removing the incentive is critical. I abhor the thought of sending mother and child back, but it teaches mothers that the risk doesn’t equal the reward.

Disencentivize the action, and watch it no longer happen.

Pay for it, reward it, and watch the instances become more risky more often.

    It is common sense.

We are droppeng bombs in Iraq, can’t we send a mother who breaks our laws back home.

Else, we send her home and offer the child up for adoption.

It is a harsh rule, but it beats Abu Graihb and Gitmo.

If you can’t have compassion on these people, and you really think you’re that much better than them in all your self-righteousness, then you probably won’t like what I’m going to say next.

Tough. I think every person who walks the face of this earth should have the right to live wherever they want to without having to drop thousands of dollars, go through a racially motivated education program, and pledge undying allegiance to wherever they happen to be living at the moment. Our immigration policies are inhumane, these people should be allowed to live where they want.

The problem isn’t the violator of the law, it is the law itself.

Ron Paul’s message is simple, that government should protect individual’s from coercion, respect their rights, and maximize their freedom. It’s not the government’s job to take care of the poor, educate the masses, etc. That’s the job of individuals cooperating together in freedom. Charities can do the same thing the government does but without force.

I’ll try to make this comment more constructive and informative.

Ending birthright citizenship will CUT government spending. Pulling out of any extra-national organization will give us freedom. His pro-life stance is not nearly as important as his pro-State’s Rights stance to leave the decision to the States, instead of a ‘once size fits all’ for people sea to shining sea. How’s THAT for respecting diversity among different beliefs across the nation?

Perhaps you have not even bothered listening to his debates, in SC, he said (roughly quoted) “IF we had a true free market, we’d welcome immigrants and they’d probably be needed, but we don’t, so they become the scapegoat”. He admits it’s not fair to blame the immigrants, but that’s not to say they are nothing wrong in and of themselves. We CAN’T blame them for watching for their own interests, but we must watch for our own as well.

Nobody hates immigrants for who they are, but we do for what they do, especially if it’s UNFAIR competition to us (why should we be paid minimum wage and pay taxes, while they can work for less, for cash?).

  33. Josh Says:
    Josh Identicon Icon

    >Most pussies are violent.

No, idiots are violent, don’t confuse that, but go ahead and say “pussy” to a person with a gun and some muscles (forget the Klan, come to our ghetto and meet the bros!)

    >Violence is usually the path of the weak of mind,

Yes, so don’t confuse being stupid with being pussy (lack courage)

    >Also, why would you want to associate with the klan? Have you seen their website? Those idiots are barely literate! I’m sure your mother raised you better than that.

I have seen many Klan sites, indeed many are barely literate, but you can’t say that about Duke, can you? My mother raised me to respect peoples opinions and embrace freedom. My mother raised me not to hate people just because they have a different view. My mother raised me to judge people by their character and behavior (and I have asked you if you can even give me ONE EXAMPLE of racist whites initiating violence in the past 5 years), not by their association and belief.

If you read more on my blog, you’d know better than calling me a white supremacist, but I doubt you’d bother, because it’s cheaper and more fun to call people racist and discredit everything they say.

  34. manchicken Says:
    manchicken Identicon Icon

Well Josh, there are three things I’d like to say in response to this:

First, you should link directly to the posts when you link to someone else’s blog. As my blog is not usually about Ron Paul, if someone visits your site in a week or two all of the Ron Paul articles could be in the archives, depending on my frequency of posting.

Second, I’m not actually saying that he’s going to destroy the country based solely on David Duke’s ties. I think you’re misrepresenting my post. My post named several things, including environmental issues, that lead me to believe that Ron Paul will destroy America.

And finally, there is no evidence to support this flawwed theory that immigrants commit any more crime than any other demographic of people. Much of the statistics I’ve seen are based on areas that are primarily hispanic, so common sense would dictate that if you have an area that is primarily hispanic then crime will also be primarily hispanic, proportional to the population. I challenge you to find a real–sorry, but I must stress that it shouldn’t be racially related–study that finds that any type of immigrant is more likely to commit crimes than citizens.

Not only that, but birthright citizenship is what gives you and me our citizenship. It’s what gave our families citizenship when their parents first came to the United States. It is a fundamental part of our constitution, and it is an abomination for Ron Paul to suggest removing it.

Not only that, but in the spirit of free trade, if American workers can’t compete in a fair market, then that’s hardly the fault of others. I think that instead of hating on immigrants, we should start requiring companies to hold the same working conditions and wage requirements (relative to local economic standards) for foreign workers as they do for American workers. If we require American companies to follow labor laws for all workers home and abroad, then we’ll not only make it more of a level playing field, but we’ll help increase the living standards around the world.

  35. manchicken Says:
    manchicken Identicon Icon

Josh: I apologize if I’ve offended you in calling you racist, but I’m sure that you can understand that the sites you link to on your blog, and the argument you first started with really do lead people to believe that you’re a white supremacist. Sorry I jumped the gun there.

About calling you and your “bros” cowards, please pass this message on to any and every gang-minded individual that you meet in any setting and in any place in the world: racists and gangs are cowards. They lack the testicular fortitude (that means balls if any of the Klansmen you know read this) and intelligence to disagree with people in a way that doesn’t demean them.

Furthermore, anybody who requires “bros” to settle any disagreement is twice the coward. The gang mentality is built up around weak-minded individuals who have nothing better to do than to pretend to be tough by using numbers. So you can fight, and you can win if you have half a dozen other guys there. You obviously cannot settle disagreements without threats, and you cannot handle criticism. That is a sign of weakness, not strength.

  36. Josh Says:
    Josh Identicon Icon

I linked your blog, not the post because you have too many good ones (good in the sense worth reading, not agreeable).

I never said immigrants commit crime, NOT ONCE. Nor has Ron Paul to my knowledge.

You suggestion to improve working standards is , sorry, LAUGHABLE, because this would effectively eliminate the incentive to hire immigrants, foreigners and outsourcing. Why hire non-Americans when you have to pay the same? So I would actually support you on that, and see the Chinese and Mexicans lose the jobs they have today. “help living standards around the world” is ethnocentric and imposing our values against other countries, not to mention we as Americans can NOT (and should NOT) spend more money than we do already to the world for the very fact our FEDERAL RESERVE is fraud money, by paying countries with out money, WE SCREW THEM along with us, not level them to us.

  37. Josh Says:
    Josh Identicon Icon

Manchicken, I don’t care about being called a racist, but trust me, it hurts you than it hurts me that you ignore or refuse to listen to things that are even remotely sympathetic to racism.

I don’t have bros, and I agree violence and threats is weakness, but we can say this ourselves all day. If you don’t have the balls to walk up to one and say it to them, you can stop calling them cowards or anything, because you know you’re already threatened by them, regardless how cowardly, ignorant, and stupid they are. With a gun, you don’t need friends.

But funny enough for a non-racist to criticize gang culture, can you imagine if Duke or conservative white people said the same? You don’t like strength by numbers? You must hate democracy too!

Racism deserves no sympathy. Any ideology that turns the heart of man towards hate is worthless and should be discarded.

And as a youth minister in the south side of Chicago, I said that many times to many gang bangers with many different skin colors.

The sooner you stop trying to get me to agree that racism is okay or anywhere near acceptable, the sooner we may be able to discuss common ground. But you and I will obviously never agree on racism or on Ron Paul.

  39. Josh Says:

You’ve just admitted you are not interested in agreeing with me on the little common grounds we have.

My ground is freedom, for everybody, black or white, racist or fascist. Your ground seems to be freedom for those who agree with you.

I don’t want you to think racism is ok, I want you to think racism is not a worse crime than what our government from executive to congress has already committed against us, and the vote to end this is on Ron Paul better than those who voted for Real ID, Patriot Act, and the war (not to mention those who are hesistant to impeach the war criminal)

  40. manchicken Says:
    manchicken Identicon Icon

Sure, we can agree on freedom. But we won’t agree that Ron Paul is for freedom, because I think that he is an enemy of freedom. You won’t convince me that he is good for America, because I believe he will destroy America.

I think we only have one thing in common on that argument, and that’s not what you’re trying to push me into agreeing upon. You won’t get me to agree that racism is okay–even though it is protected speech–and you won’t get me to believe that Ron Paul is okay, because he’s a racist and a fascist, and he really will destroy the country.

  41. manchicken Says:
    manchicken Identicon Icon

That said, I really must be going. Have a good night.

  42. Josh Says:

Manchicken, racism is ignorance and stupidity, but you’re really no better. For calling Ron Paul a racist and fascist without doing some fact checking. If he’s an enemy of freedom, he’d have voted for Real ID, USA Patriot Act, war in Iraq, and more taxation. On the contrary, pick and choose any other candidate who’s voted just that, and tell me Ron Paul is an enemy of freedom.

If you don’t know what you’re talking about that’s ok. If you don’t want to know facts about Ron Paul that’s ok too. But to judge a Doctor by accusations and ignore the good things he’s done, you’re really what’s wrong with America. It’s ok to hate racists, it’s ok to think racists are bad for America, but it’s , sorry to say, ridiculous to say that’s worse than the crimes already committed to every American today, and those who will either perpetuate it or not work to stop it.

So let me know when you’ve thought of a new candidate who’s not voted for Real ID, the War in Iraq, Patriot Act, and will bring our troops home NOW. (I can put aside Constitutional, States rights, abortion and drugs and taxation, and I doubt you can still give me an answer)

Hi, interesting blog Manchicken. Just wanted to say that I support Ron Paul, he’s the only candidate that is talking about dismantling the IRS, so I will be voting for him in ‘08!

This year was my second audit in a row. No reason was given, or needed, for getting slapped with a shakedown, err I mean audit from the IRS. I hope the extra $2,800 that they illegally took from me was really worth all of the effort that it took for me to prepare my receipts. I think millions of Americans are fed up enough with the IRS and our tax code to vote for Ron Paul on this issue alone!

James: And you, sir, are showing your true colors. Thanks for supporting Ron Paul in this way. It does well to support my arguments.

    MANCHICKEN…

You ignore the fact that illegal immigrants are a benefit for corporations and a burden to taxpayers. Furthermore, you ignore the fact that illegals are receiving free education and social security that taxpaying citizens pay for and DON’T RECEIVE!!!!!!!!! Don’t feed me your bullshit! I grew up in the ghetto and went to public schools. Don’t you fucking tell me, Mr. brainwashed “minister”!

You blind yourself with one special interest topic: Racism. Furthermore, the context in which you claim Mr. Paul as being racist is totally ludicrous. I bet you actually believe that I, a 3rd generation German/Italian/Irish American should pay reparations to 5th generation African Americans too!!!

You disregard the fact that the United Nations is nothing more than the body established as an introduction to the New World Order as devised by the rich that head the largest credit institutions and banks worldwide; that take peoples houses away; that left my family homeless!!!

Take your post-hippie propaganda stick it up your ass.

  47. manchicken Says:
    manchicken Identicon Icon

Donald: Nope. I don’t believe in reparations. But I do believe in civil rights, and civil rights watchdog groups. You know, the ones that Mr. Paul calls racist.

Immigrant children should not be denied education due to the actions of their parents. If you want to be a cold-hearted bastard, that’s fine. But I don’t want it in public policy.

And your new world order stuff is bullshit. You’re lying through your teeth. There is no super-highway like Ron Paul claims, it is a myth.

Take your neo-con propaganda somewhere else. The readers here–except for the Ron Paul supporters who came here just because they don’t like what I have to say–are too smart to buy your crap.

    Dear Manchicken,
It seems to me that this blog started with a good interest. But now it has resulted to mud slinging. And you have a point about Ron Paul supporters, we are very passionate about our country and the down fall it is in. I discourage people who are trying to discredit you, and believe your point is just as valid as anyone else. But I think the reasoning behind the remarks are because we know this is the turning point of our nation, and we also know that if something drastic is not done then not only will it directly effect you and me but also my child and his children. And believe me I have looked at all of the candidates and they all follow the same path to economic failure.
But let me be clear I commend you for staying civil during all this, and welcome your different beliefs and ideas.

    Till next time
    Take care

    Eli

reLOVElution: You haven’t looked close enough. Economy isn’t the only factor here. It’s a big one, but it’s affected by many factors. We’ve got a huge healthcare crisis in this country. As an independent contractor I have gotten to learn first-hand what one must go through in order to get health insurance without the protection of state laws as they pertain to individual plans. My family doesn’t qualify for most healthcare plans, and that actually has nothing to do with cost. Try qualifying for health insurance and you’ll find this to be true for yourself as well. Then tell the eight year old kid that they can’t go to the doctor because the free market decided not to provide them with health care coverage and their parents can’t earn enough on the fair market to pay the inflated prices that the fair market continuously extorts from people… I doubt the kid will think it’s all that fair.

Ron Paul is a racist who is fighting for the same old world of the haves and the have-nots. Your child will suffer under a Ron Paul presidency. And your child’s children will suffer even more once the severe consequences of our pollution are truly realized… and then you can tell your grand children that we may have screwed the planet, but at least it was a decision made by rich people, and rich people are always right.

The UN is bad news for everyone, there will never be world peace so forget about that. Presidents are made out to be “elect me and i will make your life better”. But the only person who can make your life better is you.

Also, dig deep in the back of your mind, people of different race, are “different”…and that means there will be racism no matter what. i myself, am not a big racist person. BUT, because there are different types of people in the world, i would surely side with my kind before any other… lets be honest with ourselves, its human nature…

and we need to stick with the
Constitution because its the foundation and the way that makes this country the best in the world…

    PS: I LOVE GUNS….

  51. manchicken Says:
    manchicken Identicon Icon

Pro, you’re a bit late to the game.

First, the UN isn’t bad news for everyone. Just because world peace isn’t possible long-term doesn’t mean that we should do our best to govern as a world body when decisions involve the whole world, and human rights. That’s a stupid point.

The siding with “your own kind” is an ignorant point of view. Who is “your kind?” Are they “your kind” because they’re the same color as you? Because they live in your neighborhood? Because they worship the same was as you? You’re a moron.

The constitution is nice, sure. Let’s stick with it as best we can, but the constitution allows for the government to do things outside the scope of what the constitution originally intended because the constitution was never intended to be then be-all-end-all for the US government.

By the way, I’ve been outside the US, and I’ve been in several places in the US. The US is most certainly *not* the best country in the world. Most unequivocally not. You must not travel much to say such things. Europe is a very nice place, and if it weren’t for family ties I would very much like to move there… but flying home to see my folks so often would be a bit of a drag.

They have “freedom” in other places just like we have here, and in some places they even have more freedom.

By the way, I don’t see how guns enter into the equation, but with your neo-con viewpoint, your mild case of racism, and your uneducated view on the constitution, it doesn’t surprise me that you do like guns. I don’t mind guns when the people who are using them know what they’re doing and aren’t trying to harm people and animals unnecessarily with them.

I suggest that maybe you take a second round in that constitution class, and maybe see the world a bit. The United States isn’t the only place out there, and the rest of the world deserves a say in matters where the world as a whole has to deal with the consequences.
